Someone asked where my work might be found in public collections:

Bad Hare Day (2007) was purchased for the collection of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian. The cabinet is made of Macassar ebony, Walnut, and marquetry. The form is elliptical. The three rabbits start far around the left side of the cabinet and the nose of the fox is at the right hand extreme. This means that the viewer can’t take in all of the marquetry at once and is forced to walk around at least 270 degrees.

The vertical stripes of the Macassar help to set up a rhythm that suggests movement. The starburst pattern on the top keeps the stripes aligned.
