Several years ago my shopmate, Tom Coughlin, came in one morning and said he was going to make a couple of ukuleles for his kids. (he’s an excellent guitar maker.) I said that perhaps i would “shadow him as he made part I would follow. I ended up with a fairly conventional baritone uke. Then I thought I ought attempt to learn to play it….
It turns out that the most popular song books for ukulele show the chords for tenor ukes and smaller. So I made a second uke tenor-size. My Flukulele is that instrument.
I am still attempting to learn to play…. everyone says I am a better woodworker than musician and I should stick to furniture, but I’m determined.
