This piece was done in my series of self-portraits. I based it on the work of Antonio Barili and his figurative work. Braille would create three-dimensional illusions by framing the figure in a window.there were often parts, such as hands or elbows protruding through the opening. This was my timid attempt at a similar idea. I did use significant cast shadow to make the interior space.
The primary wood is oak burl and the framing wood is imbuya.
