Someone asked where my work might be found in public collections:
An alumnus of Yale University wanted to follow the lead of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and commission furnituremakers to build public seating to go in galleries of the university’s Art Museum. I was one of a dozen or so people asked to make one of these benches.
I chose to make a piece with simple rectilinear form. My trompe l’oeil marquetry was intended to appear as if magazines were sitting on the bench and give the viewers a double take about sitting down.
