It’s always a treat to work with sumptuous materials. This chest of drawers was all about the materials. The basic wood is thuya burl. The veneering is interesting because the boxes housing the drawers are all different sizes. Strings of inlays run around all the edges. I purchased thousands of triangles of mother-of-pearl that had been laser cut. we assembled these into rows with wood in between and then inlaid those parts into the panels.
I had the pulls custom made with bronze and pearl from a metal working friend. The overall effect was quite elegant.
